The Beginning...
Giorgi Khmiadashvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgia. He was 6 years old when he first stepped into a Georgian folk-dance studio called ORBI. ORBI was one of the leading dance companies in Georgia, touring and performing in many famous European cities of Greece, Spain, France. Giorgi was 10 years old when he had his first live performance broadcasted on CNN & BBC. Since then he has performed on big stages of Nuevo Apolo Theatre of Madrid, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall of Moscow, Municipal Theatre of San Paulo, Teatro Colon of Bogota, Royal Opera House of London. Giorgi has acquired extensive experience throughout his dancing career and developed himself as both a dancer and an artist.
After 9 years of experience in Georgian ballet, Giorgi decided to change his style. At the age of 15 he joined the Ballroom dance studio GRACIA where he started actively training in ballroom dance, incorporating his experience and creating unique style for himself ultimately leading him to win the Platinum Award of Latin Dance in Georgia. At the age of 19 he was already regarded as the top ballroom dancer in Georgia and was training his own students. At the age of 22 he was nominated to take the International Seminar by the Georgian National Federation, passed his exam in international ballroom dance and became an adjudicator.
Dancing in the States
..
In 2015 Giorgi was invited to move to the US to teach and compete. He initially established his practice in Dallas, Texas where he competed for 2 years across different states with his
dance partner, Christina Dupey, and won several awards. Simultaneously, Giorgi was active with his Pro/Am students both in the studio and at the competitive level.
In 2021 Giorgi moved from Texas to NY where he continues his professional career and strives to become the best version of himself. His main goal is to see the best version of himself and guide his students to build their own successful dancing careers.
